as it turns out, I won't be able to talk to Clarissa (the GC, not her real name, of course) until tomorrow night. I'm very hopeful, but (being prudent) not too hopeful.
Why Clarissa for a pseudonym? It's a lovely name, but you must not have the same associations with that name as me - in the past I would have thought, "Clarissa Explains it All," a crappy Nickelodeon show I liked as a kid, but now I'm reminded of Samuel Richardson's novel.
I was thinking of Clarissa Dalloway. Not a perfect parallel by any means, but the general theme of life with all its complications continuing, twinned with death.
"Mrs. Dalloway said that she would buy the flowers herself," were the first words that came to mind when you introduced this pseudonym. I wish you much luck in the meeting.
Nicole -- I'd never heard of "The Hours." (though I did know it was the original title of "Mrs. Dalloway." ) Maybe I'll try to read it, though, for some reason, it's really hard for me to read fiction right now.

Mmm. I live in the wrong century, apparently. I wish you well with the conversation. Can't wait to hear what you think afterwards.
Do you like the book, "The Hours"? It's my favorite.
I hope things go well with your conversation tomorrow.
niobe...haven't read the book nor seen the movie but might have to go rent it. Looks like a good one.
I am the eternal optimist, inspite of my pessimistic view of life at times, so I hope to read about your glowing meeting Tuesday night :)
