Not all spiders have eight eyes. Some have only six.

Interesting (though creepy) information.

I had a cousin who died from being bitten by the Brown Recluse. A.k.a. Violin spider.

Blech! Yuck, gross nasty.

My aunt was bitten on the forehead by one of those and thankfully she survived...

I think I had a spider bite on my leg last year. It was nasty.

But, being a nerd, I can't help but find them fascinating.

Huh.

But are there spiders with fewer than eight legs?

Some are deadly but most are not...I always think of the black widow when I think of spiders. Don't know why though.

That's one ugly spider. Can you put up a prettier picture next time? Maybe a poisonous frog or something?

I am an anomaly: I like spiders. While I understand fear of brown recluses and other poisonous spiders, I welcome most arachnids around my home. They eat gnats and mosquitos and other pesky flying things. A few summers ago we had a beautiful orb weaver take up residence on our back porch. Every evening she would rebuild her web, which was always destroyed by her nightly feast.

That said, I screamed like a little bitch when a wolf spider made it into my tent while camping one time.

I had no idea that so many people had been bitten by spiders. And I'm very sorry to hear about your cousin, Ruby.

Poisonous frogs? Maybe next week....
