What's a wasty? And why are you one?

As I understand it "wasty" (rhymes with tasty) is kind of an all-purpose insult, meaning something like "worthless" or "pointless."

What does the first word say? Haxor? I'm confused.

"Haxor" is sometimes a compliment meaning someone with mad skillz, but here is being used ironically to mean "loser" or "worthless person."

I should have given a translation.

The message is written in the internet slang known as leet . Leet involves substituting symbols or numbers or slashes and back slashes for letters and using made-up words.

You put lots of exclamation points after almost everything and include some numeral 1s in the exclamation points to make it look like you were typing so fast you forgot to hold the shift key down.

What the message says is:

HAXOR! YOU ARE TEH WASTY!

What it means is something like:

LOSER! YOU ARE COMPLETELY WORTHLESS!

Thanks for the translation - but I must admit I still don't see the point. Of leet, or the 1's in the !!!'s, or of the message.

Was someone insulting you? If so, then why?

Hope I don't come across as being obtuse!

There's really no particular point, it's just basically a "secret" code (kind of like pig latin) that makes people can feel really really cool if they understand it.
My friend was just emailing me the message as a joke to show off her knowledge of leet.

Yes, it's kind of childish. But I'm immature like that.

Wow, learn something every day. I wonder if anyone I know knows Leet. Hmm.
