red, white, and blue

Happy Independence Day to my American readers!

As you know, I did all my celebrating a couple of days early, but I was wondering if any of you had Fourth of July plans.....

My plans? Write the damned report. Just finish it already. It must be done before tomorrow morning, so it may involve some form of being awake through at least some portions of the night. But I will feel so much better after it's finished.

Oh, and today's my sister's birthday party at my house. But I am hiding upstairs with my laptop for most of it. Fun.

i had a bbq with My Gays and taught them the correct way to grill food. there was also vodka punch involved, and i got a little carried away and made about six pounds of guacomole to share amongst five people. oops.

We walked over to the house of some friends of ours for a bbq. There were five! babies there and two toddlers. And even though one of the babies was born a week after William was *supposed* to be born, and one was born almost a year to the date after that (so she is about a month old now), I didn't get even a tiny bit upset. I have pretty much avoided babies for over a year now and today it was like babies coming at me from all sides--and I was fine.

No plans here. It rained some of the day so I was in the basement drywalling. Watched "Law & Order" until 10 p.m. and then off to bed where I drifted off to sleep to the sound of fireworks.

Worked until 5pm and then went to a friend's house for a bbq that was supposed to be at our house.

I actually got behind on my blog reading because of my trip down south to my in-law's. They always have a big thing. More in honor of my husband's g-father's b-day than Indepedence Day, but the convergence makes for a nicely themed party.
