u can't touch this
Though I'm not sure how much educational value this particular clip had, I really do miss Sesame Street.
When you were a kid, what was your favorite tv show?

That's hilarious!
I used to watch Sesame Street, Today's Special, Square One, and He Man and She Ra. I still love cartoons...
I never watched Sesame Street as a child. But I loved Little House on the Prairie. I pretended that I was Mary and my sisters were Laura and Carrie. I also watched Scooby Doo, even though it gave me nightmares.
Really little? Electric Company. grade school? Emergency 51 (I'm so serious). And of course, the intersticial School House Rock videos, which I still watch/listen to.
Awesome video, but the Hammer was missing his parachute pants.
Saturday mornings, my sisters and I tuned in to Land of the Lost.
Marshall, Will and Holly,
on a routine expedition
Met the greatest earthquake ever known.
My sister just got the DVDs and I can't believe IT'S SO CHEEEEEESY!
Velveeta!
So this is where I really do get to do the "in the snow, uphill, both ways" thing for real. We had like an arts and crafts show once a week and cartoon/kid movie shows on the weekends, an hour each day, I think. And we had two fifteen minutes (that's including the way cool intro clip and some talking) cartoon programs weeknights. We did, however, have access to a lot of activities for kids of all ages, free or very affordable.
Awesome clip.
What if I said this is not the first time I've seen this?
What if I said I screeched like a girl the other morning when Shiny Happy Monsters came on Sesame Street and the girls and I dropped everything to do a nosh pit style dance?
We were running late that morning too, as a result...LOL.

Using My Words
Ooooh Julie, will you be my friend? Because I was far, far too happy when I found this video on YouTube.
When I was a kid, I had no favorite TV show because my parents didn't get a TV until I was 14. I recall my younger brothers watching Captain Kangaroo. When my 4 daughters were young, we didn't have a TV for 5 years. Before and after, their favorite shows were Sesane Street, Mr. Rogers, and 321 Contact.
I don't know if I had a favorite, but I used to watch Winnie the Pooh, Fraggle Rock, Gummy Bears, Looney Tunes, Sesame Street, Care Bears, Mr. Rogers...I'm sure there were more. I haven't thought about this in such a long time. On a related note - my secretary brings me magazines and one was a magazine of toys. Well there were all these toys in it that I haven't seen in a long time - the Snoopy Snow Cone Machine (loved it), Lite Brite (oooohhhh, wasn't this a choking hazard?), Lincoln Logs...it brought back memories!
I only have three words:
PIGS. IN. SPACE.
i love snoopy and bugs bunny. they are THE funny.
The Smurfs were my favorite. Bar none.
I was so obsessed by them that I actually believed that I was Smurfette. I got lost in the grocery store while my mother shopped, and when the clerk found me, I refused to tell her my real name. Instead I insisted that my name was "Smurfette." No amount of yelling at me changed my story.
I loved the Great Space Coaster. We also watched the Flintstones, anything Looney Toons, and of course, The Muppets.
Sesame Street, (still love the old shows!) Mr. Rogers, pretty much anything PBS, as it was mother approved daytime TV. I did do Saturday morning cartoons, the only cartoons I got to watch. I was such a gullible child, I was 10 (yes 10 !) before I even knew cartoons were on any other day.
Loved Sesame Street, particularly the There's a Hole in my Bucket skit. I also enjoyed Electric Company, 3-2-1 Contact, Superfriends, Smurfs, and Kids Incorporated.
oh god...my favorite show was MTV. yeah, at 5y/o. i also loved the cooking segments on ZOOM.
Sesame Street and The Muppet Show. I agree about Pigs In Space, that was my favorite!!
I also liked this show called The Polka Dot Door...but I don't think I've ever met anyone else who has seen it..
So many!!! The Flintstones. The Flying Nun, My Three Sons, The Partridge Family...whoa, I'm really dating myself better stop there.
Sesame St, Electric Co. and Mr. Rodgers. Then Muppets (YES Pigs in SPACE!) and Little House and the Sunday Disney hour.
Did anyone watch Star Rangers? This was when I was like 8 or so. It was one of the first asian crafted series. Kinda like a soap for kids. I loved it!
i was boppin' in front of my computer!
my favorite show was the electric company.
sesame street is hands down the best show. then and now.

3-2-1 Contact. I LOVED that show.
And there was another with kids solving mysteries . . .in the intro, I remember one of the characters pulling a table cloth off a buffett filled with food and screaming "Don't eat the food! It's poisoned!" because the mystery solving team of kids analyzed it just in time.
OMG - I was a Sesame Street LUSH growing up (though oddly I never saw this clip).
Promise me that if ever you're in NYC (and maybe London), you'll go see Avenue Q -- google it -- it's Sesame Street for adults and it is C.L.A.S.S.I.C
