it's not paranoia if they really are all out to get you

The clinic called to tell me that the results of our screening tests have, unaccountably, vanished. Cue Homeric laughter.

Travel day, so I won't be online, but I'll see if I can post a few artistically blurred photos taken from the window of the train.

edited to add: It's clear to me that "vanished" is a euphemism for "never actually performed in the first place." So, no, there's zero chance that they'll be rediscovered.

Holy shit! Can these people do anything right? Anything? Have they heard of this new-fangled thing called a computer? You put input the information, and it stores it. And then it backs it up every so often. Automatically, if people who set it up have half a clue.
WTF? And what does it mean for the forward progress?

I want to be shocked, but sadly am not. Someone explained to me yesterday that what I am is incensed when I hear about this type of error.

ridiculous and unacceptable.
here's hoping they inexplicably turn up again.

I'm really thinking here that they just confused YOU with ME and this will all be sorted out to your benefit and my total assiness within about 5 minutes. Really, just watch.

But really, for the love of mike. I wonder how many totally normal people have their files lost.

What?? How is that even possible?

I hope they can be found. Total insanity.

After your edited update---make it clear to them that if they never were done or they were lost, then you expect that there will be NO double-billing, either personally or to your insurance company.

I find that muttering the words insurance fraud or theft under my breathe is quite effective in getting people to either search harder, or give me a big fat discount to make the pain of previous screw-ups all better.

A pox upon them!
