saturday night fever
I spent the morning at Starbucks and now it's naptime, because my Patriots-fanatic friend, Deanna, has invited me over to watch the game. I really hope they win, not because I care, but because Deanna will be absolutely crushed if they lose. Though, if that happens, I guess she can seek comfort in the arms of her hottie boyfriend, who speaks only Italian and watches only the kind of football that always seems to end in scoreless ties.
So, tell me, what are/were (depending on when you read this) your plans for Saturday night?
If you're in need of inspiration, just watch this scary video and prepare to party like it's 1977!

I'm by myself (again), knitting, and watching bad TV. I got your photos and they're beautiful. They're currently sitting on my windowsill in specially bought frames. I've also finally got round to doing my own give away!
I've had a very exciting trip to Ikea so we're starting to build stuff now - oh it's all rock and roll around here.
Oh, and that is proper football! Not boys in helmets! :P
Oh and, I'm Rebecca, not Rachael, heh.
Oh, that's easy-- husband off to Europe to ski, daughter off on reciprocal sleep-over (actually they are still here, and I still have to drive them over, but soon they will be off to that stage of their overly social weekend), and I hope to drink tea, catch up on blogs, post myself, and maybe even knock off a household chore or two.
Right now I'm watching bad t.v. and working (um, blog reading/working), but later I am going to dinner at my favorite Mexican restaurant and then going to a play. This is adventuresome for me - lately I've been doing a whole lot of nothing, basically all the time. So, I'm looking forward to it.
I've a date with my trainer tonight to exercise followed by a game of potty-mouth scrabble complete with margaritas. Exciting stuff.
Well, after watching that video, it seems I should be dancing, yeah.
But I'll be doing laundry.
Saturday Night Malaise?
oh yeah, he's straight...come on out Johnny Boy!! Tom Cruise is waiting for you!
Sorry, I'm staying home rooting for the Jags, but I have a feeling your friend will have a better night than I will:)
I am so bummed everyone got their pixs already...I've run to the mailbox everyday and all I get are BILLS!!!!!!
Looks like I am the most geographically distant from my fellow mafia moms....figures.
So far: dinner, havdallah, knitting.
Upcoming: my portion of toddler bedtime, a bath, more knitting, cocoa, sleep.
We had dinner out at a friend's house! Very grown up. With our little kids so we ate at 5, but still. They're Mormon and only talked about their religion a little so I consider it a success.
My plans were to go out for my birthday dinner. However, DH got called out for work earlier this morning and didn't get home until it was too late to go to my favorite restaurant. We did go out but it wasn't nearly as good as I had planned.
Let me see. The kid is down and so is the baby. I get to read blogs then try to sleep too.
I dare not even watch the video for fear of waking them up.
Oooh I love BeeGees and Disco!
Hmmm. We went to Home Depot and bought lightbulbs, ate fried chicken for dinner, put the kiddo to sleep and now I'm blogging. We'll watch a movie in a little bit and then I'll fall asleep halfway through!
Very exciting!
Watched a documentary about monkeys in India, called (seriously) the Bad Boy Monkeys of India. Ate some salad, drank some green tea, wrote some posts, walked the dog (not in that order) and worked on some photos I'm getting enlarged. That's about it. I know, the excitement is killing you!
We are watching the Pats too, but my husband doesn't speak Italian. I think he's a hottie though. In a nerdy, pale, software engineering way.
That sounds like a pretty nice Saturday to me! I'm visiting a friend, so we went to a cooking class this morning, lots of fun and visiting, and now scrapbooking... Might not be a crazy weekend, but it's a nice treat for me!
SOunds like a good day.
I'm home, folding laundry, playing scrabble online, trying to tidy up.
we went ate out....yummy indian food. then i went to bed. at 7:30.
"Games that always seem to end in scoreless ties.."
Grrr. Why is soccer the last acceptable sports prejudice?
Until the company stops practicing gender apartheid where they can legally do so, my Saturday night plans will never include a stop at Starbucks. I've been boycotting them ever since I heard about how they treat their female customers in Saudi Arabia...
Watching bad comedy television and trying to go to bed early (didn't happen).
we watched a rerun of Nature and ate popcorn with the kids. not exactly a rollicking good time, but it is the good life.
Running on empty
I blogged my weekend, with photos even. :)
Hope your Saturday night was fun. :)
It's only Sunday and I've forgotten how I spent Saturday night - not because it was so awesome but because (sigh) it was so lame.
We ate take-out Lebanase food with friends, played video games with the children, and watched The Jerk with Steve Martin. Not too much in the way of excitement!
Gretchen
I don't mean that we watched The Jerk WITH Steve Martin, cause, that would have been, like, awesome. I mean, we watched the movie the Jerk which stars Steve Martin...sigh.

I had a few grim dead-baby-oriented moments as Saturday could have been a first birthday. Somehow got stuck walking to the store with a pregnant teenager smoking cigarettes and talking about how much faster she gets stoned since she got pregnant. Went to a party with some friends and fell asleep next to a warm boy while watching Crossroads (NOT the Britney Spears movie) for the third time. Not UTTERLY horrific.
Oh my, I just realized how morose I sound. *sigh* My apologies.
Angela -- don't worry. You couldn't possibly sound as morose as, say, me.
My father came in town for an overnight. He managed to immediately show us all his infected toe - (Eeeecck) then elevate it on Erik's favorite chair. His date procured on match.com fell through, so the girls and I took him to the local burger joint where he simultaneously complained about and praised both the girls and the wait staff.
