I told my mother.

About that thing that begins with B.

And I don't mean this blog.

Do your shoulders feel lighter?

It's okay hon, we're here for you no matter what.

You never know, she just might be okay with it all.

Maybe?

One less thing on the To-Do List, right?

Thinking of you ...

How did it go???

CLC said...

Well, what did she say?

It was probably time, so that you wouldn't have the stress of the secret.

I'll be checking back to find out how it went! I hope it went okay!!

Wow. Your mom. Can't wait to read how the rest of this goes...

Like everyone else, I am very curious to know your mother's response to that four letter word...

At least it's over with and at least you probably weren't entirely surprised by her reaction.

JW Moxie said...

Interesting. I hope her reaction surprised you and isn't just one more thing you have to deal with.

D'oh. Hope it was done with a stiff glass of something.

Should I send weed?

You needed it done and you did it. Hope she disappointed your expectations with a positive response.
I'm with Tash tho, conversations like that absolutely need a stiff something either before, during or after, or better yet, all three.

Wow, I hope it went OK.

And...???

Telling my mother about the pregnancy was really hard. I told her in front of one of her friends so she curbed her reaction. She's known for two months now and is just starting to kind of warm up to the idea. She's a really supportive person. HA HA HA.

Clarabella said...

Yikes! Like other commenters, I hope she surprised you with her reaction (in a good way). Regardless, I hope you feel a little lighter having it out in the open.

Gotta say I'm with the "Well?!?!?!? What did she say?!?!?" camp on this one.

And her response???

You are the queen of brevity, my friend. The rest of the story please?

Now that is a moment to be followed with a very strong drink of some kind. MAybe two.
Hope she decides to support you, like a mother should.

i'm dying here...what did she say!!???

Anonymous said...

Being the child of a mother who once prompted my therapist to say "just from sheer ODDS you'd think she would say the right thing once in a while..." I truly hope the response was better than expected.

Lori said...

Well, the picture couldn't be more perfect.

I do hope it went better than you might have thought. Hope? Fingers crossed? Pretty please??

Yeesh, I need a drink now. What did she say?

charmedgirl said...

WOW...i sometimes think about the thing that may or probably will never happen to me again, and think that i won't want to tell anyone, even with the evidence growing by the month.

i thought you had it in the bag, that diabolical secret; i'm ever so curious, what made you tell?

Anonymous said...

how the eff did THAT go? I hope it was smooth sailing, sweetie.

Magpie said...

Oh you inscrutable one. What. did. she. say?

Julia said...

I am going to make my question a bit more original: (how) did she process the concept of Kyrie?

And also, are you hiding under the bed now? Or did you listen to Tash and hit the bottle? :)

Hang in there- you didn't jinx anything and you can always have your favorite adult beverage to try and help you relax...mmmm, tasty treat! Hugs

My dad didn't take it too well when I told him either, (he thinks I should have waited until I was 27-30..) but it's been a few months and today he started rubbing my stomach and singing to it, and telling people "That's my grandson" so.. I guess I'm saying maybe she'll warm up to it eventually? I know your circumstances are a bit different, with the surrogate and all.. but maybe?

Big move. I hope it went ok.
