cat exits bag

Honestly, it couldn't possibly have gone any better.

Yesterday, I walked into my boss's office, closed the door and, explaining it as a possible adoption, told her that I might be taking January and February off. She was thrilled, couldn't stop congratulating me. Without my asking, she offered to let me work at home for a while if I wanted to. She wanted to send an email around to the whole office, but I talked her out of it, at least for the time being.

"Niobe," she said, "everyone is going to be so happy for you." It's hard to explain how nice that was to hear.

I am going to be so happy for you too (I secretly already am but I don't want to say anything too optimistic that might make you break out in hives :))
