If you look closely, you can see my reflection -- slightly distorted -- in the teapot in the top photo.
I'm sitting in the hotel lounge and, just in front of me, are two men talking about the price of champagne. To my right, a very blonde woman is leaning across the table, telling someone about her trip to Spain. "I'm probably misremembering," she says.
Through the window, the sky is grey and dark. It's either raining or just about to rain.

I just love your perspective on life. Truly, one of a kind, even when you are looking at a mildy distorted image of yourself.
I know I did for years!
I can smell the tea and scones and rain from here.
Ah, I love that word, "misremembering," ...
Welcome Niobe! Apologies for the worst day of rain for some time.
i am very, very jealous.
I thoroughly enjoy your blog -- the delicate precision of the pictures and the prose are just stunning.
A joy each time.

have fun on your trip. even if you do get wet (we got SOAKED one day last summer there, but it was worth it!)
This sounds so lovely.
Exactly as I imagined you. But in my distorted mind, the image straightens itself out and you are beautiful, darling.
