first day

So, yesterday was the first day back at work for me and the first day at daycare for Cole. It was much less traumatic than I had worried it might be -- no tears for either of us. I had taken Cole in last week to visit and meet the other kids, so when we arrived, a little girl in pigtails yelled out, Look, it's baby Cole! Hi, Cole! Is he going to stay with us today? I told her that he was and smiled all the way to work. I think everything is going to be just fine.

YAY for surviving the first day. I think that was the hardest part for me, but once I saw that both Lemy and I were just fine it made things so much easier! :)

Little kids loving babies is so cute! I missed it, did you end up with an inhome daycare?

Glad the first drop off went ok :)

G$: Yes, I found an in-home daycare near the house that I think I'll be very happy with. It's accredited by the state, which means it has to meet certain safety and staffing requirements and the caregivers are trained in child development. Plus, they're bilingual -- English-Spanish -- and speak both languages to the kids.

Bilingual, good. No kleenex, priceless.

This means you'll have time to blog now, right?

Cole will speak more Spanish than I do in a few years ;)

Oh, great-- now Cole will be learning snark in two languages. Or maybe he will be learning two languages and snark, separately, and integrating on his own. :) Monkey's headed for her first visit to the country of her third language in less than four weeks. I am a bit apprehensive of her gaining the vocabulary to snark at us in the language neither of us possess.

Yay for driving privileges! :)

i am glad. you know, it;s not easy to drop them off--but as you know-kids love other kids. if i asked cate i am reasonably certain, that she would say that she'd rather hang out with kids than me.
i can't, in any way, make her laugh like her little boyfriend who calls her "AAAAAAATTTTTTTTEEEEEEEEEEE!!!"
glad it went well.

Oh and I made Lemon Pie in honor of pie day... even if I am now living in the land of reverse dates. thanks for the great suggestion!

PS My nickname actually was Pi in high school, yeah I was a geek with geek friends who worked as a pie baker...
