party at niobe's place!

Even though I realize that it's a very bad idea for about a million different reasons (reason one being that I hate parties), I woke up this morning thinking, Gosh, wouldn't it be so much fun to have a blogger get-together at my house! And invite, like, everyone!

So, what are you planning to bring?

Rum balls.

What's the dress code?

Niobe, how is a girl to choose? Sweet or savory? Savory or sweet? Better yet - one of each! I'm thinking dark chocolate brownies in one pan and homemade pizza with proscuitto and tomato in the other.

Oh, and a couple bottles of wine. Of course.

Spirits of course and my mom's favorite pecan tassies ( just call me a Southern girl) and something salty to be determined later).

Booze. Blender. Shaker. Ice. Save me a seat.

I'm sitting next to Tash and I'll bring glasses:)

My favourite spinach dip. And I'm sitting on the other side of Tash.

I have to live up to my Navajo name, Many Bourbons, and bring the Maker's Mark. I will also bring that spinach dip in a loaf of bread that always ends up at a party. I could basically bathe in that stuff if given a loaf of bread big enough.

I'm bringing caustic wit and my charming good looks. I'll get Frank to bake up some of his finest, and I'll also bring along variety frosty bottles of Mike's Hard drinks (lemonade, cola, etc). That's good stuff and two or three will put me under the table.

My smart ass sense of humor and a big old pitcher of margaritas.

My knitting and if you're lucky some homemade wine or maybe if you're very lucky some sloe gin!

Carrot cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. Or maybe homemade Oreos. And a roasted vegetable pasta salad. because I like loving people with food.

Cheetos. Don't act like you don't love them.

and definitely nothing with ketchup.

I make a kickass version of Martha Stewart's Dig Deep summer salad. It will go perfectly with Maggie's G&Ts.

Pimms and lemonade and a single malt (scotch) for later.

Uh oh...Bon mentioned the aversion! I will send a big box of Belgian chocolates!

I'd very likely bring something fashioned out of cheese, since I am from Texas and all. Not that there is an actual connection, but when you say it in relation to cheese, people generally just swallow it.

I'll bring the homemade guacamole. Um, not to brag or anything, but mine is ridiculously good. And if I can borrow your oven, I'll make seven layer bars.

I'll bring the maypole, of course. and flowers for your hair.

I'm in the alcohol corner.

I happen to looooove black olive tapenade with a slightly frightening obsessiveness. Delish with a big red wine.

But, equally good and going with a more booze-y theme, plain ole chips and salsa satisfies the salt craving.

How about Chocolate fondue for dessert, with either more red wine or, better yet, a delicious port?

Brownies.

How about I just give McPolish the necessary ingredients to double her brownie recipe? mmmmm...

And some wine, naturally. Orvieto Classico, if possible. Several bottles so McPolish and I can polish one off while sitting on your curb. (It's a long story)

I'm making espresso ice cream and tostadas for dinner...I'll bring them over to your place instead!

Water chestnuts wrapped in bacon, with little toothpicks sticking out of them. Also the makings for grapefruit martinis, though the sangria sounds lovely...

Looks like I'm late to the party! I'm longing for summer so I'd have to bring something with berries. And chocolate. Oh, and a bottle of wine.

Red wine. And guac. I love both.

A sleeping bag. Sounds like enough provisions for a week, at least.

Hey, I'm not that far away so I would love to come. But I hate parties too so you couldn't call it one. I would bring one of my carb-laden side dishes. Homemade macaroni and cheese or the loaded baked potato casserole? Or a lemon bundt cake with buttercream icing drizzled atop? I am really good at non-colorful carbs...
