northward bound
Tomorrow morning, we'll be heading north. First stop: a little town with a huge, over-the-top Fourth of July celebration, including an all-day parade, fireworks on the waterfront, a pie-eating contest and a fireman's muster.
Next, I'll get on the ferry and head a bit further north to spend a few days by the Bay of Fundy with my friend, Hortensia. Hortensia is not only as black-hearted as I am, but is also one of the few people who still calls me by my college nickname -- Evilla. Don't ask. Please don't ask.

Yay! Bay of Fundy. Scallop Capitol of the World. Have fun!!
Oh, but you want us to ask.
Reversing tides.
So, "one of the few" - does that mean that other people call you that too?
Have a nice trip.
So, tell us: Why Devilla? I didn't imagine you a teenage Devilla, rather Maria...
That name is so perfect for you it's not even funny. :)
Point heard.
Disregarding completely, because, Dude!
Asking. Cough it up.
(And sounds like a storybook perfect 4th! Have fun!)
Why would anyone ask. You are *such* an Evilla.
Of course you want us to ask you sly one you...
I'm endlessly nosy, so of course I'm going to ask.
Enjoy the over-the-top celebration...sounds like a good trip coming up.
Enjoy! And I won't ask because I know you'll tell..if you want to:)
Happy 4th!
College nicknames... that could be a whole other post with interesting comments... even if the nicknames aren't explained. Perhaps especially if they weren't. 'Cause then the mystery would be gone.
Here by the lake, I am a daiquiri to the wind, about to start on dinner, and getting ready to watch the fireworks in a bit over an hour.
Have a grand time with Hortensia. And does Evilla club indict new members? I want to call you that too... :)
But niobe, if you tell us not to ask, you absolutely know we will ask because we're warped like that.
Dear Niobe, You always post very helfpul things on my blog but I don't really know your story. However, I think you might know about surrogacy. Is it right that you've done that. If so, I'd really like to know more as we're (vaguely) looking into that.
