in reverse

the unicorn's horn
Thanks so much for all your encouraging and thoughtful comments in response to my last post. I am, well, stressed. So stressed that I'm having trouble actually concentrating on the many fun and educational things I was planning to write about.

Sue asks: how are you feeling about the possibility of twins?

And, as you can probably guess, the answer is thrilled and (mostly) terrified. But I'd be equally thrilled and (slightly less) terrified with a singleton.

Shamela (who has a great name with a great literary reference, but is apparently blog-less*) asks a question (well, really, two questions): What happened to the old Niobe? How come you're no longer cursed?

I wish I knew, Shamela. I wish I knew.

*blog-free?

Oiy, not cursed? Even 20 months after my live baby arrived, and as he runs around healthy (to all appearances, ken ayin hara) and happy, I'm still afraid there's a new one out the for me.

Not that I think you were ever cursed.

I am crossing my fingers and wishing I could create a special time warp just for you.

I've been gone and you've been busy. I look forward to your updates.

I wanted to ask how you'd feel about twins (would scare the sh*t out of me, actually), so I'm glad someone did. Isn't it amazing that you could go from having 1 child to 4 in just 2 short years? Have you ever seen yourself as a mother of 4?!

You always have the most amazing photographs along with your posts.

I'm just thinking of you & Trish and trusting that you both will be taken care of in the best, "The Universe fucking OWES YOU" way possible.

I vote blogless. Fun to say, you know?

I wish I could create a time warp for you too...just today a little asked me why time goes so slow when you are waiting for something.

I had no great answer.

You know, I am of the opinion that if a question about being cursed needs a "no longer" in it, the subject of said question can have all the luck in the world going forward. :)

i'm glad you're no longer cursed, but I sure hope that curse hasn't just somehow been transferred to me.

My words feel insufficient today. But know that I've been thinking of you and Trish...

You were never cursed you silly fool, you were just going through life's cycles, the bit that brings misery one after the other, the rough bit, now you're going through a smooth cycle.

Smooth, rough, smooth, rough, it goes round and round. I myself am making the most of the smooth I seem to be in as you do, another rough cycle will come soon enough, alas!
