rear view mirror

closer than they appear
One of my friends says “miracles happen all the time.” I’m not sure I believe that, but the outlook for my sister is looking infinitely better than it did yesterday.

This morning, it was dark and cold and, everywhere, flags were flying at half mast. But I’d driven almost all the way to work before I managed to remember why.

Oh my g! It's about time for some good news. May it get better and better and better. Massive hugs to you.

9/11 -- I forgot, too. Life goes on, eh?

What encouraging news! I pray that it gets a little better each day.

I'm so glad there is good news - and hopefully there will only be more in days to come.

hopefully a step forward -- without another backwards slide. At least for a while.

I was having an incredibly shitty morning until I realized what day it was, and decided it wasn't really so shitty after all.

Oh, this is so very good to hear. The article you linked to yesterday was v v scary. May she be in the very top of the 10% from that article.

Trying to write a date in the corner of my class notes today-- 9/.... errr... oh, DUH!

But also, birthday of a kid brother of Monkey's classmate.

forward and backward. It's a long haul.

And I am annoying as I can't seem to get anything done right and/or on time this week.

That is very good to hear. Thinking of you xx

I hope this is just the beginning of a good news trend.

If miracles exist, I'd like to think one of us could have one.

I'm hoping your sister's condition improves and continues to improve. Best of luck to her, and as importantly maybe, best of care.

I'm happy to hear that - continued good healing to her.

Certainly understandable, considering all that's going on in your life.

So glad to hear of yor sister's improvement. Hoping it is just the beginning of many positive steps toward healing.

You and your family are in my thought, Niobe.

well, I spent a lot of time yesterday thinking about how annoying I am, so I'm sure that helped. ;)

I read that there are 10% with the same injury who do make recovery. It sure would be nice, for once, to have something GOOD happen when you land on the low odds/ rare statistical side of things.
Hope...it's what keeps us going.

Glad to hear things are improving. My family has had a miracle recovery recently - a survived ruptured aortic aneurysm - so hoping yo too get on the good side of bad stats.

That's great news. I hope she continues to get better. And, to answer your question from yesterday, I'm boring.

I am so glad to hear this, so so glad.

Beautiful photo. Gray has inherited your gift.

And your comment in an earlier post, "It's what we expected, but it's not what we wanted" captures it perfectly and so succintly.

Huge hugs to you!
Im so glad to read things are a little better with your sister. Im not sure what happened to her but I can tell you I totally understand your stress. Last year my sister had a cold in the morning and was in a coma by the afternoon. A super bug had got hold of her and we nearly lost her. I know how worried you must be.
