natural history

I realize that just about the least interesting thing to read about is how tired someone else is.  But, honestly?  I'm tired.  Very, very tired.

So tired, in fact, that when I try to read, the words spontaneously generate their own anagrams, like barnacle geese, born of driftwood, or crocodiles spawned from the mud of the Nile

And how (or how many hours) did you sleep?

I hear ya. Today's rainy weather is just adding to my sleepiness. How many hours did I sleep last night? Dunno, but last night was a "feed me every 3 hours" night. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz ........

I got my usual 6 hours and 15 minutes of sleep...but it's never enough!

I should have gotten about 7 hours based on when I went to bed. But it wasn't a good, restful sleep. Odd dreams about taking classes (I haven't been a student in years) and cupcakes.

And then my daughter woke me up before my alarm went off. I tried the snooze option (let her talk quietly to herself until I'm ready to get up), but she was rather vocal about wanting her diaper changed and missing her animal friends and brother as she listed them all. Or perhaps she thought if I didn't come to change her maybe one of them would?

Hope you get more sleep soon...

I slept 8 long hours (more than usually) and was still tired when I was supposed to get up...

I need about 9. I get about 5/6.

Every morning I promise myself I will get an early night. Every afternoon at around 3pm I curse myself for staying up too late the night before. Every evening at 9pm when the kids are asleep, the dishwasher's on, the last bits of work are complete I gleefully start to write or make or plan and before I know it it's 1am. Then I lie awake listening to the World Service, thinking 'sleep sleep sleep' and calculating how many hours it will be before Moe wakes me up for an early feed.

Wasn't there a study published recently that blames consistent lack of sleep for a whole host of health problems? Oof. Another thing to worry about at 2am.

I don't know what the total was, but I do know it came in more than 45-90 minute increments so I feel like a new woman. If I could shower, I'd probably be alert enough to . . . I dunno, drive? Do anagrams?

Is it bad that the cat has spent more time in the bassinet than the baby?

Oh, you're hurting me, because those days are right around the corner and I do not deal well with lack of sleep. In fact, I get downright mean, especially in the middle of the night.

I got 8 hours of very restful sleep last night, though that is unusual lately. I've been giddy today.

Five. Postnatal Insomnia, as I've got a happy sleeping baby. Agree nothing is more boring than tiredness, so I am going to save these comments for 2.30 tomorrow morning.
It is sooooo consuming though! Hierarchy of Needs and all that stuff

I do fabulously with 7 to 8 hours but I usually don't get more than 6(sometimes a lot less).

Last night, I slept about 7 hours. That is pretty much the norm for me, though I slept a LOT more before I had kids. Back then, I would sleep for 9 or 10 hours on weekends, and about 6 during the week. Of course, I would come home from work and take a 3 or 4 hour nap every day. It doesn't really work out that way anymore!

Hopefully Ruby will catch on to the wonders of sleeping through the night soon!

Last night was a heavy rainstorm... so this little hurricane-survivor didn't sleep very good. Waking up every 30 minutes in sweat and being scared doesn't make the 7 hours in bed very relaxing.

Can't wait for the weekend, need to sleep in until midday... Just realising: why do the english-speakers say "sleeping IN" when in german it is "sleeping OUT"?

Questions of tremendous importance in the middle of a sleepless night with roaring rain and thunder...

I took a series of 1-hour catnaps from the hours of 9PM to 6AM, courtesy of my boob-addicted 6 month old. And now I'm at work trying to function. Oy.
