one thing i've learned

Antidepressants don't work nearly as well if you're too depressed to actually take them.

Probably not. And suddenly stopping them can be especially rough. Be careful.

You are breaking my heart. Playing with ADs is a surefire way to actually deepen your depression and mood swings. Please take good care of yourself and get back on the regimen.
You deserve to feel better!

I agree with the others, please take them, I did, they were a life saver, literally!

Do not mess about with them, just one day off screws the whole treatment up.

Please, pretty please?!

Take your meds woman!!! Don't make me come out there and force ya, because I will. Especially in my mood. Sorry for the tough love, but sometime that's what it takes. Like LIW says, you deserve to feel better!

SSRI withdrawal particularly is very nasty. I've been too depressed to take them too- but please, please find a way! Can your spouse give them to you in the morning?

niobe...not sure what you are taking or what dosage. If you are prescribed them by your local doctor and not a psychiatrist, many times you will not be given as significant a dosage and consequently it won't have the theraputic affect you are needing. Nevertheless, if you have been on anti-depressants consistently for several months and notice no affect, contact your doctor so he can either readjust the dosage or prescribe something else. I am not a doctor and this is just my opinion based upon what I know of anti-depressants...they do help when taken as prescribed and with good supervision by your doctor.
