fashion police

The dress code at work is pretty casual, but today I'm moderately dressed up in a black shirtdress from Banana Republic. It used to have a tie around the waist, but I cut off the loops that held it up because I thought they looked silly. I'm also wearing a pair of cubic zirconium and fake pearl earrings, the highest pair of heels I own and, in my one concession to the weather (95 massively unpleasant degrees*), no stockings.

Now, how to put this without sounding like one of those heavy breather types that call at 2:00 in the morning? So, uh, what are you wearing?

*Or 35° for those whose preference is celsius. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Edited to add: The comments will give you a lot of insight into the people who read this blog. Sometimes too much insight. Yes, Furrow, I'm looking at you.

Well it's 12degrees celsius here in flooded Sheffield. I was looking smart in a navy skirt, tights and a shirt, however as I couldn't get in to work this morning I'm in jeans, T-shirt and fine knit top.
I'm also hoping they don't cut the power as I cook food for my birthday party tonight.

Happy Birthday, Katie!

Now I know why it's a mistake to check the 'net on my way to my shower.

I love how you're getting comments before the officially desgnated time on your post.

And happy birthday to Katie from me, too!

Well I don't have to go anywhere today. But I am dressed, in a lime green sundress.

You sounds pretty nice, even showered!

I am wearing my running clothes: an old t shirt and black bike shorts and lots of sweat. I really need a shower. . .

Well, its 6:30 in the AM here, and I don't have to go to work. I am in sweat shorts, an old army tee of my dad's and these wonderful soft slippers that have arch support. There are no words for how my hair looks, as I haven't brushed it yet.

Wow, now I feel like a slob :) You sound like you look lovely today, Niobe.

Thanks, ms. g.

Though, of course, I'm cheating because I posted this on a day when I'm actually dressed nicely.

I haven't gotten in the shower yet, so I'm wearing a light brown t-shirt with pictures of cows and Hershey's chocolate syrup, white undies with a flower and vine print, and a sloppy ponytail with a navy blue scrunchie. Don't hate me because I'm beautiful!

i'm in a navy dress with my fav heels.
and why assume that at some of us wouldn't like the heavy breather effect?

I'm in the momiform.

Capris (khaki) from Old Navy, shell pink tee from Old Navy...

...and some very cute brown leather Greek-style sandals from Eddie Bauer.

Khakis and a brand new white t-shirt (so it's still unsullied!) - I work in a casual office - we have dress-up days instead of dress-down Fridays. I did manage to put a silver bracelet on this morning.

Jeans and a grey cashmere jumper, the weather has gone bonkers in France lately, one min. its boiling the next my jumpers come out of hiding!

It's ridiculously hot here, so I'm wearing really cheap, but thin, gray pants from Target, a nice new cream shell/tank thingy from Ann Taylor, strappy black sandals that I love that are about a year past when they should have been thrown out from Nine West and a black cardigan that I bought at Nordstrom back when I got this job. Though it is a billion degrees outside, they blast the AC in my office, so I have to layer.

:)

blue jeans and a jersey top, like every other boring clothes day for the past year or so.

Damn, Niobe! That sounds sexy.

I'm wearing what I always where to work: my french maid's outfit complete with with mesh thigh highs and garters. But just for a twist, I'm wearing combat boots.

Thanks for the conversion - I needed that!

I am wearing a horrible fuscia nursing pajama top with zippers running down in front of the boobs and a little bow on the collar. With it, mint green flannel pajama pants with a blue polka-dots and brown teddy bears print. No, they don't match. Yes, I look awful. I just woke up, after all.

My aren't you fancy!!

I say that only because I am dressed in my workout clothes as I will be leaving for my "spinning" class in fifteen minutes. The sad part will come when I am still dressed in these same clothes come dinnertime.

I'm wearing all black (as always) except for my shoes. Baby blue Nike's.

From the bottom up: Black ballet flats (because I'm 6'1" as it is), wide leg khakis (the classy wide leg, not the Old Navy wide leg)a black scoop neck short sleeved shirt from Banana with a white camisole poking out of the bottom.

Not only is my office corporate casual, but I visit construction sites, so I never get really gussied up unless I'm meeting with clients.

This is embarrassing, but I will share.

I am STILL in my jam-jams because I slept-in. I am wearing (for a few more minutes, anyway, until I go change into my running clothes) silky pj bottoms that are red with black, pink, and white polka dots and a lime green cotton t-shirt.

You are better dressed than I could ever be in this heat!

I just walked home from school, and it was so hot and humid that I am sitting in front of the fan in my T-shirt and underwear.

It sounds racy in print, but actually it is not at all attractive.

I work in the academic area of a University hospital and we have a wide range of attire around here (scrubs, suite/tie, capris w/flip flops). Today I have on black slacks, heels and a shirt with varying shades of purple. It's about 66 degrees out right now.

I work in a university, too, and during the steamy summer in New Orleans, we get pretty casual, with many shorts and flips flops getups. Today I am quite dressed up in jeans and a white button-up short-sleeved shirt, tan sandles with a (faux)coral and turquoise necklace.

Two dollar thrift store pants and a shirt that my Mom gave me from a sightseeing trip twenty years ago.

I feel so...cheap.

Usually my bra is the most expensive thing on me, but no, the bra was $4, the underpants are five years old and have therefore probably depreciated to $0 (except in prison), so I guess I'll default to the cute beaded silver earrings Sam bought me recently.

Of course, I'm on my last day of (scientifically questionable) bedrest, so I kind of wonder why I'm wearing pants at all.

I cheated-- I first saw this when I was still in PJ's, but didn't respond till now. :)

Now, I am wearing a tan full length summer skirt and a summer top with flowers on it. And very comfortable and somewhat cute brown sandals.

Brown knee-length flouncy skirt, green polo shirt, fabulously supportive and crazily expensive cream-colored bra, ancient underpants of an unremembered color.

Funny you should ask.

Today I am feeling particularly awkward in dark blue scrub pants that are way too big for me, and a lime green t-shirt that is so bright it looks like it's glowing. Additionally, the leather on my new shoes has stretched, causing me to trip over my own feet fairly frequently. And, of course, I have several thousand zits to complement the entire ensemble.

Aren't you glad you know?

Don't you look nice.

I'm wearing just about the only clothes that fit me right now. Black and white workout shorts and a black t-shirt. I did go the gym, so yes, that's my excuse. Plus it's in the eighties.

I'll probably change into my momiform, like slouching mom, soon.

Black trouser suit, cream silk t-shirt, black cardigan, black flats - cos I was in Court all day - no umbrella so I turned up at book club later looking like a drowned rat as surprise surprise it is raining in London. Oh and I haven't quite got round to starting my blog yet - too busy reading others and trying to decide my niche - post IVF, mommy-lawyer blog seems a bit dull.

Cool idea! I arose this a.m. to find that I need to do laundry. Again. So I grabbed a crisp white T-shirt and a pair of plaid walking shorts that I recently found at Target, brown belt and brown, comfy sandals. Too hot for much else :)

I'm wearing black yoga pants (the millenium's new sweat pants) and a red and white stiped shirt. When ever I walk by my husband he yells out, "I found Waldo".

Gray t-shirt, blue underwear.

It's cold and windy here...

Looking very casual (working from home) in jeans, black scarf, pink stripey socks, blue long sleeve tee, blue jumper with hood...

I just changed into my pajamas... brightly striped cotton capris and a pink tank top - I had to buy these while on vacation because I forgot to pack any pajamas!

Okay. Fun. I'm wearing a low cut black shirt that's slightly body hugging (not too body hugging), and an orange/red stretchy skirt from H&M that falls right above my knees. And I'm barefoot.

It's really hot here. But I just generally like short skirts and low cut black shirts. I'm trashy that way!
