he may have a point
Niobe: "I can't sleep."
L: "Well, maybe you should take a sleeping pill."
Niobe: "How did I know you were going to say that? Despite what you seem to believe, the best way to deal with your problems isn't always just to take some drug."
L: "I guess you're right. Sometimes it's probably better to drink."

Heh. He may have a point in fact. Funny.
I'm with him on that one. I am telling you-- pink grapefruit margaritas. Or Cosmopolitans. Or Appletinies. Or whatever works for you. :) Unfortunately, none of that is on my suck-ass diet right now.
Ha ha ha! I had to laugh!
Had to laugh. And a drink might not be a bad idea ...
I'm so sorry you got that call from the agency and that your surrogate is not going to work out. I hope you are able to get things back on track soon.
I thought he didn't drink?
I'm sorry you can't sleep. It's not nice.
Definitely has a point.
pink graprefruit margaritas sound wonderful!
insomnia, not so much. sorry.
Mmmm. I wish I could have taken either point last night.
A glass of wine is best for sleeping, I find. Otherwise I'm a dirty martini fan.
Clearly he just wants what is best for you!
We kind of discovered this in the school staffroom today. The basic conclusion was that sometimes days can be so crappy a very very large drink was called for!! I think you may have had one of those days.
Rapier wit!
Drug, drink... why must one choose? Do whatever you need to right now. You've certainly got a legitimate excuse.
ahh alchohol... one of the earliest drugs... ;)
did you fix a martini?
Just catching up from your posts from yesterday. And all I can think of is a four-letter word that starts with f.
I am so sorry about the surrogate. Damn. Niobe, you have such strength to ride this rollercoaster.
As for your husband's point: isn't it amazing how our men can be so spot on with their, well, man logic?
Thinking of you.
Bless his heart. Men are such "fixers" sometimes. :)
He's got a good point.
Cheers!
A small glass of port. I'm sure that lil' glass has a name, but I don't know what it is. I'm sorry that you couldn't sleep. Was it the surrogate issues or just not being able to turn off your head.
I would love to know what came next in this conversation. It certainly made me laugh out loud.
I have heard this before although not the drinking part. Sounds like you just need an "ear" to listen. You know the answers already but just need to process everything with someone safe...and then sleep will come once you accept you have done all you can do and have no control over the rest. Then all you can do is put it to bed.
sorry life is so unfair. *sigh*
Indeed, sometimes it is.
Cheers to that one.
A man who thinks outside the box. What a keeper.
I'm sorry to hear of your surrogate setback. Seems like the advent of Fall is starting on an off note for many.
