She (99 point something percent of calico/tortoiseshell (black and orange -- often with varying amounts of white) cats are female; while something like 2/3 of orange and white cats are male) does have a name, but we never use it.
Ever imaginative, we usually call her "Kitty." Though sometimes we use "Minou," so she can learn to ignore us in two languages.
Cute cat! I love my kitty. Funny about the nickname thing - I always wonder if I am the only one who calls my cat all sorts of weird names. His name is Emerson, but I call him all kinds of strange things. I used to call him itty bitty (which he isn't) kitty witty, which turned into itty for short. Now I usually call him itty. I had a calico cat when I was a kid - I found her when I was 7 - she was teeny weeny and really hungry and had a lot of hair. I named her Piggy Wiggy (cause this made a lot of sense when I was 7) and we called her Wig or wiggy for short. Okay, now I've embarassed myself.
I have been doing the same (posting dog photos), because my brain can't come up with anything decent at the moment. Your Kitty is very sweet. My dog would like to nuzzle her. He LOVES cats.
I'm impressed you didn't fall back on this most gorgeous specimen a few times in post-every-day-in-November-nonsense. Feel free to rely on the cat more often.
Love kitty pictures but am having serious kitty issues at my casa...one is facinated with the toilet flushing, crawls in after evry time but has also been known to get in the shower with me and sit on the back shelf, one sits stop the refrigerator, not sure why, one won't stop peeing everywhere, well, she is 16 but still soooo gross, one is so lazy he sleeps inthe litter box which may explain why my other one is peeing elsewhere, choosing to destroy my house rather then her buddies new bed...anyway here's a link for more fun pet reading for all of you cat lovers:) http://www.lisashea.com/lisabase/fun/diarydog.html
i also call my cats lots of names, and since they are boys they are mr.'s and whatever rhymes with their names at the time. and i always ask them, "who's the pretty kitty mr. (insert name and rhymes here)!?!?!"
We call my 15-pound male Siamese (not the svelte slinky kind of Siamese at all!) kitty, too. Though his name is Harrison. He has the same stare as the second picture.
Kalaky My mother has a Maine coon cat who usually perches atop the refrigerator. Which works out well if you're on a diet, because Maine coon kitty is exceptionally ill-tempered and vicious and will take a swipe at you, usually drawing blood, if you even attempt to open the fridge.
Chistina You wouldn't have to worry about rejection from our kitty. She was the runt of the litter and her mother completely rejected her, batting Kitty away whenever she tried to nurse. Not surprisingly, Kitty has rather severe abandonment issues and can be annoyingly clingy.
For some unknown reason, we call our tortie Noodle. That is not her name. It also is used as a noun in place of the word "cat", as in "where is the noodle? Have you seen the noodle today?" Her nickname also has a nickname - as in "Hey, Noods, want some kibble?"

Awwww.
I love kitties.
You? With nothing to blog about? Pawsh.
That is a cute cat, though.
Waaaaah. I have not cat.
I have to resort to recipes and recycled internet jokes.
Duh. I have not spelling/proofreading ability neither.
Another reason why I should get a cat!
What a beautiful cat! Seriously.. beautiful!
I really do like cats a lot.
Why wasn't I informed of this rule? If I'd known, I could have been posting every day.
Anyway, your cat is very cute. (But then I'm a hardcore cat freak and would think so even if he/she was a scrawny, balding, one-eared mess.)
If it's not too private, what is his/her name? And do you use it, or does the poor animal have a whole series of odd nicknames like my cat does?

cat in a box!
You have a cat? Huh.
I wish I had a cat. Two actually. But we're not there yet.

It's always nice to have pictures of kitties. And that one just looks thrilled to be participating!
Haha. Been there, done that. :)

What a pretty kitty.
Yes, you can. And apparently if you are Niobe, you will still get a boatload of comments. You are such a rockstar!
i am too insecure to like cats. it would be rejection over and over again.
but she is lovely.

Aha! I would have guessed a cat.

Unless, of course, you don't have a cat.
I love tortoiseshell cats. I have a grey/brown tabby myself that is currently stalking the fish in my tank.

If I had a cat I would do ;)
