Here is the way I think of it: without a positive test, there is no early pg, without early pg, there is no somewhat later pg, and so on... you know? It's the only way to get there. Necessary condition, if not sufficient. Here is to necessary conditions being satisfied, one by one.

Congratulations Niobe. This will be shorter than I want it to be because I think blogger limits the word count in comments. I discovered your blog some time ago through a series of links from others' blogs. I have been enjoying your pictures and prose but only this weekend took the time to read your entire archives. You talk about how you struggle with writing but it does not seem so. From the reader's perspective, it is so effortless & beautiful. I find myself wanting to know so much more about you. I am too stupid to even figure out where you live or what you do. What are these past tragedies you speak of? Why do you belittle yourself so? Why is your family so cruel? When will your broken heart start to heal? How did one person get dealt such talent and such bad luck in the same hand? This probably sounds stalker-ish but it is really just my attempt to give you the reader/lurker's perspective. At various times you've seemed to show interest in who's lurking. I'm a mom, a professional, a 2x miscarriage survivor. Nothing even remotely remarkable, really, but that's me.
You are so incredibly gifted with words. I hope this new development in your life means the universe is about to deliver you with many more gifts.
Congratulations, again.

If I believed in fate, good luck, and all that happily-ever-after stuff, I would say that you were meant to stay in Europe so that you could come home to this.

It really did work out smashingly perfect, didn't it?
