baking (updated)

baked goods
One of Magpie's recent posts inspired me to spend Sunday morning making (and eating!) the exceptionally tasty bread featured in the picture. (click on the link for the embarassingly easy recipe)

And, as K@lakly was nice enough to point out, the bread goes perfectly with the tasty, tasty soup over at her place.

And, on a tangentially related note, Trish has an appointment this afternoon. I'll update to let you know how it goes.

Update: Trish's appointment went very well. Everything looks fine. And one of these days I might even stop composing "well, unfortunately" blog posts in my head while waiting for the results.

I made a really yummy white bean, pasta and veggie soup yesterday that will go nicely with that bread. Come on over:)!

P.S. Have vino too!

I need to hang out with you and K@lakly some.

This cool weather makes me want to bake and cook and stew and stare at our non working gas fireplace and wonder how to either get it turned on or something to make it even cosier.

Thinking of you this afternoon.

Excellent news, so glad your mental notes have not proven necessary for print.

So glad to hear things went well.

And I'm going to have to try that recipe. I love to bake. But especially bread.

A little butter with sea salt on fresh sourdough baguette=heaven. And next to that is a chunk of bread dipped in homemade soup (am mentally doing a "butter-churning" "whoop, whoop" dance for the update).

Great news from Trish.

I'm in full on making mode at the moment, trying out recipes for things to sell in our soon-to-be deli/ cheese shop! Yum!

The bread looks divine, and I am off to check out the soup.

I'm very glad the appointment went well. And yes, you must stop composing these "well, unfortunately" posts but maybe they are reassuring in a weird kind of way (or maybe they're not but it's a tough habit to break, send any tips my way!)

OMG - I'm not the only one who mentally composes worst case scenario blogs? In my head this baby has died 1/2 dozen times already.

Glad all continues to go well.
