like eating peanuts

In the garden yesterday, I tried channeling Magpie, telling myself that pulling weeds was addictive and that I just couldn't stop. Surprisingly, it actually seemed to work.

But there are still more weeds, right? Ah, something to look forward to at day's end.

One time as a child, I pulled out all of the strawberries, thinking they were weeds. The dandelions however, made the cut.

Funny, I still got put on weeding duty after that...it wasn't the ending I was expecting. :)

I am addicted to lots of things, but pulling weeds is not one of them. That's what my husband is for.

Good for you though!! Always nice to see the end results of a garden that has been tidied up. :) I just don't like to do the work to get there...

A trick I use is to always--er, whenever I have time--(cough), whenever I have time and inclination and am not encumbered by bags or toddler and happen to remember this trick, I pull ten weeds on my way in or out of the house. Ten seems so easy--ten weeds in many parts of my uneven garden is about two square inches. The trick part is that once you've done ten it's actually kind of hard to stop.

My trick for weeding is to go to the garden center and buy something for the garden. That way, I have to weed (in order to plant)--works every time!

Sounds like reverse psychology on oneself in order to get yourself to like pulling weeds. I say go for it. It worked for you :)
