for rosepetal, my reality, and cinnamon gurl

As requested, the birthday shoes are pictured above. There are only six pairs because I left the seventh at work.

Sigh. I hate shopping for shoes. I hate shoes. If the shoe fits, I'm forced to buy it, because who knows how long it will take me to find another pair that I can wedge my dwarven, flipper-like feet into.

What article of clothing do you most dread shopping for?

Bras

I literally have to drink scotch prior to bra shopping because I dread the "fitting" when I have to hear all about how my chest isn't "standard" size.

I usually think I look good, until I go there. So I don't go there.

I really understand about your shoe dilemma. But these are very very nice. Maybe you won't have to go back for awhile?

Wow, what beautiful pictures. Do I see skulls in one of the insoles? And I like the dark ones with the sparkly jewels, although I think I would never have the courage to buy them for myself. I'm more of a boring loafer girl.

My feet are very narrow and I find that whole ranges of slip ons just slip off.

(I hardly do any clothes shopping anymore. However the thing I avoid until I can't anymore is going to the hairdressers. I HATE IT. EVERY. TIME.)

Wow, those are fancy, Niobe. Zebra flip flops?
My shopping bottom 3: pants, shoes, bras. I finally found one brand that makes pants which fit me, so I go home, to the store, and squeeze several new pants into my already full suitcase. Shoes I buy whenever I find a pair that I both like and that fits (which is not often). Thank goodness there is no dress code where I work.
Bras -- if the store doesn't tell me that "this size doesn't exist" -- are very expensive and more often then not rather ugly. Oh well. Going without is not an option. Maybe I should try having scotch before, like Aurelia.

Niobe, your feet sound exactly like mine! I have so much trouble finding shoes that fit, and it is my most dreaded shopping experience. Every season I look longingly at the beautiful shoes that are 'in' and know I will be very hard-pressed finding anything remotely similar in a shape for my foot....

I dislike shopping for pretty much anything when I'm feeling fat.. Nothing fits right. Except shoes. Always love shopping for shoes, because they always fit! No matter what I weigh. Although I have a very difficult time - size 4 1/2 5 - so pretty much have to get all my shoes on line...

I have very big feet - long and narrow - so find shoes painful to shop for. And bras - ugh, that's depressing.

Loving the bling factor on your shoes... x

Dresses - the fact that my boobs are bigger than they "should" be in standard sizing - means I can get dresses that fit my boobs and look like sacks or fit my hips and are like a corset on my boobs.

Gorge shoes!

Believe it or not, I hate knicker shopping! It could be because you can't try them on in the shop and cant take them back and I always seem to buy the wrong size or I just hate them once home!

Shoes - because my feet are so big that I often can't find any. And pants, because my legs are so long, that I usually have to order them - at least everything except jeans. Then I have to return and re-order and return and re-order since I can't try them on. But I think I hate shoe shopping more. I wander around the store looking at all the cute shoes that don't come in my size and then feel sad when I leave with one kind of ugly pair.

Jeans. And even if I find a pair that fit okay in the store, they never seem to fit right after that, always sliding down or something, making me look like a teenage boy. Consequently I almost never wear jeans.

I do love shopping for black skirts, which I inadvertently do whenever I am in a clothes store. I just can't stop salivating over various black skirts. I have at least 10. I've cut myself off, but I still look! Not that I do a lot of clothes shopping. My constant companion finds it dull.

Fancy kicks! I especially love the zebra flip flops of course.
I despise shopping for jeans and bathing suits.

Definitely shoes. I'm with you 100% on that one. I don't like them and now that I'm retired, I live in flip-flops.

Bras. And even though I am not a shopper, there is no close second.

Ooh, sparkly!

I hate shopping for pants/jeans. If they fit in the waist, they don't fit in the thigh. And vice versa.

Cutie shoes!

I hate shoe shopping most. I have flat feet with bunions that hurt if I don't have supportive shoes. So absolutely no cute flats or slide ons for me. I HATE that. I don't want to wear old lady shoes! My mom thinks its always a fashion choice to wear sneakers and Dr. Martens-esque shoes always, but I don't really have a choice. Hate bra shopping too, no one really carries 32-34 DD at a discount store! And like Caro, if dresses fit my body then they ususally don't fit my boobs. UGH.

Love the shoes!!

I hate shopping. Period.

Jeans! If they fit in the thighs and rear, they gape open in the waist. The jeans that will fit in the waist, I can't get past my thighs! I didn't buy jeans (or pants really) for YEARS because of fit issues. Last Fall, on a whim, I tried on a pair of out-of-my-price-range jeans, and they fit perfectly (of course). With much buyer's guilt, I purchased them. I've worn them at least once a week for the past year and love them still!

Great shoes!

I. love. those. shoes. Love them.

Like several others, I also dislike shopping for bras and jeans. That's why I go around braless and pantsless most of the time. Can't be helped.

Someone already picked my top 3.

Bras
Shoes
Jeans

Even though I don't wear them too often, I would put dresses and skirts 4th but mainly for the same reason as jeans. (too long)

It doesn't help that I am a total cheapskate and only want to buy cheap clothes.

bras and bathing suits, flat out.

everything else, i've with time learned to scope out certain cuts and styles that don't make me look like a dumpling, but with bras and bathing suits the whole dumpling area is totally exposed.

so now i just buy ones that don't really fit right, off the rack, without even trying 'em. bad idea? yes, in the sense that my bathing suit is too small in the chest right now and yet the tankini bit sorta makes me look pregnant, and the bottoms cut my ass in half, but hey...i only wear the thing three times a year. :)

i like your shoes.

Aargh!! I can't see the pictures at work.

In the meantime, I hate shopping for bras, and pants. I hate shopping generally actually, all that in out in out of trying things on and the horror of full length mirrors in change rooms. But socks are ok, because you don't have to try them on.

BRAS! It's been said before.

I swear my boobs are "punking" me. They go up and down in size monthly. I've about had it with them!

Jeans. I hate shopping for jeans!!

I love these pics! In true Niobe-style, you have made pics of your shoes a work of art.

They are all fab by the way!

I hate shopping for anything besides shoes. My feet are the one part of my body that aren't fat, saggy, lumpy and dimpled. I can always find shoes to fit. Everything else is a huge challenge.

I think I like that second pair there.
My nightmare shopping article: all. I am short and way overweight. I buy something when I have to, and I put off buying for as long as I can. My mom gets me tops sometimes, so that's good.

NotSoSage said...

Those shoes! Are those skulls in that second-last pair?

Me? Dresses. My hips have never been proportional to my chest, so to find a sheaf of cloth that doesn't balloon over my tiny bosom and yet doesn't stretch over my hips is impossible. How I wish I could look good in a sexy little number.

I wish I could add something meaningful to this string of comments. Obviously, I don't shop for bras for myself or anyone else for that matter. This guy only has about three to four pairs of shoes...and I would still have my wing-tip shoes I bought in high school if my wife hadn't thrown them out! I don't like anything between my toes or my feet bare so thongs and sandals are pretty much out. I'd sooner go barefoot.

I hate shopping for ties and if I can avoid wearing them, I do. I don't know who came up with the idea of a tie to begin with. Seems un-natural to me to put anything around your neck that you cinch up unless you are hanging someone.
