idle thoughts

For all those who delurked, imagine I'm waving wildly at you. For all those who didn't, you're more than welcome to whenever you feel like it. And for all those who like caramel (toffee? taffy?) apples, I've posted the picture above.

Becky's comment made me realize that my email address was too well hidden, so I've added one of those ubiquitous antipixels* (also known as web badges, buttons, or antipixel buttons). Just click on it, and an email addressed to me should open on your screen. You can see what the button looks like below, but it'll be permanently included on the left sidebar.

To amuse myself (remember, I'm far too easily amused), I also made a bunch of random and meaningless buttons, which you can see below. I didn't set them up to link to anything though, so clicking on them won't be very rewarding.

If you'd like to make your own antipixels (a fun and educational activity) go to this extremely cool site. Fair warning: it's kind of addictive.

*No, I have no idea where the name came from or what it means.

edited to add: I saw the the pictured caramel apples at a local farm stand. Sadly, I didn't either make them or eat them. If you want to try making your own, here's what looks like a very easy recipe.

Someone called me out to let me know that I didn't delurk. I normally don't lurk, but who the heck doesn't like to have a comment?!

*waving furiously back*

*well, not "furiously", but vigorously, see my arm fat?*

Oooh, thank you. That photo is almost as good as actually having one.

Thank you for the caramel apple picture. At the moment, it's better than puppies, much better. I appreciated your comment - seeing things how others see them hopefully serves to make me less self-absorbed. I am afraid of the same thing happening again, but the beginning really is what I'm jealous of.

Just what I need! Something else to keep me "amused" at the computer! Who will do my laundry? Who will go to the store for me?

I must resist....

Shiny Things is one of the most wonderful things I've seen in a long time. But then, I too am easily amused.

MMmmmm....
Is there such a thing as cyber calories/blogories/blogulite?

We always called them candy apples. When I was growing up, there was a cool family down the street where the parents would make you do a trick before getting your candy apple Hallowe'en treat (although of course trick or treat means give me a treat or I'll play a nasty trick on YOU)

oh our toffee apples use clear toffee - basically just sugar and water. There's a recipe here:

I need a class in blogging templates. I could create the antipixels on that site, but getting them into my blog? No clue.

Love the pic- fall is my favorite time of year (happy sigh)...

I wish the Latte button really worked to ;)

Ooh, those do look good. Much better than the red things I was thinking of. I don't think I've ever seen a toffee apple that looks like these, so I guess they are something different after all.

StyleyGeek said...

Of course, I should have read your reply to my last comment before posting that. Thanks for the explanation!

Those look absolutely FANTASTIC!

oooh, those look so good. They make me feel like I'm at a carnival and it is twenty degrees cooler. I can almost smell the funnel cakes and hear the carousel music. Thanks for that little bit of autumn early.

Well, THANKS A LOT. Now I need to make peanut butter brownies AND caramel apples. And somewhere in there find time to put some really snarky buttons on my blog. Hmph.

right back at you, lady.
love the buttons are whatever the hell they are.
ummmm, yummy looking apples. Did you make them?

The Oneliner (Christina) said...

Great picture!

The antipixels are fun but I cant get a link to it.

Love the photo. Each fall, I pledge to make caramel apples, then never do. Maybe this year...

PB "Great White" collection is truly a classic, but the plates are ginormous. We use the salad plates as our everyday plates and bust out the big ones for dinner parties. Plus they weren't too spendy.

NotSoSage said...

Did you make the apples? I've never thought caramel apples looked appetizing 'til now.

Love the caramel apples picture, and the photos of your birthday shoes are amazing. I am so jealous of your photo-taking skills.

Yum. Love me some candy apples. Until I get to the apple part, at least.
